December 11, 2015 broadcast of PBS NewsHour

Lately, I've been on a letter-writing spree to MSM outlets concerning their reliance on organizations like CAIR, although I often think that it's an exercise in futility.  Below is a letter that I sent to PBS NewsHour concerning its segment American Muslims feel singled out amid a climate of fear that was broadcast last Friday, December 11.  For Northern Virginiastan readers, it's old news, thanks to Always on Watch's reporting.

I am writing in regards to your segment on backlash against Muslims.  This is the second "Muslims fear backlash" story that I've heard today (the first was on NPR's Morning Edition).  I am sick of the "Muslims fear backlash" stories.  They deflect attention from the true victims of Islamic terror attacks and make Muslims the victims. I note that P.J. Trobia visited Dar Al Hijrah mosque near Washington, DC.  Did you ever look into this mosque?  It has multiple links to terrorism:

* Two of the 9/11 hijackers worshiped at Dar Al Hijrah
* Imam Sheik Shaker Elsayed of Dar al-Hijrah was captured on video advocating armed jihad

* Ahmed Abu Ali, who taught children at the mosque, was sentenced to life for plotting to assassinate former President George W. Bush.

* The late Anwar al-Awlaki was an imam at Dar Al Hijrah Mosque.  He counseled both Nidal Hasan, the jihadist who carried out the Ft. Hood massacre, and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the "underwear Bomber."  You might recall that al-Awlaki was killed in a drone strike in Yemen.

Anwar al-Awlaki counsels Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the "underwear Bomber."
It always astounds me that mainstream media gives credence to organizations like Dar Al Hijrah.  Is it laziness, naivete, or pressure to push out stories?

From 30 years to life

Our favorite splindly terrorist wannabe and 1999 ISA valedictorian Ahmad Omar Abu Ali was re-sentenced today. He will now carry a life sentence, not the original thirty years.

The usual suspects (L to R): 9/11 Mosque iman Shaker Elsayed, lawyer Ashraf Nubani, and Abu Ali's dad, after the re-sentencing. The three men have been previously covered by Northern Virginiastan.

Abu Ali remained defiant:

"I would like to remind you that you too will appear before the divine tribunal with me and everyone else," he said in a brief statement to U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee. "That day there will be no lawyers ... If you are comfortable with that, you can decree what you will."

To which I say:

More legal jihad

I'm glad that Marooned in Marin made me aware of his/her blog.

Marooned in Marin found another story about legal jihad (see our story about Randall Todd "Ismail" Royer), this time featuring 1999 ISA valedictorian and everyone's favorite spindly terrorist wannabe Ahmed Omar Abu Ali.

Notable alumnus of ISA:
Ahmed Omar Abu Ali

The source for the story was the Wall Street Journal Law Blog.

Abu Ali went on hunger strike because prison authorities wouldn't let him read "Dreams from My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope" by Barack Hussain Obama (NMP). Prison authorities later recanted.

Mom and Dad Abu Ali:
I'd cover my face if he were my son.
At left is Shaker Elsayed, Imam at 9/11 mosque

According to the WSJ Law blog:

There are a couple of signs pointing to the idea that Abu Ali might sue. He already has a lawyer, who spoke to the AP briefly about this episode. Abu Ali also filed a handwritten prison complaint form, saying the Obama book rejections “violate my 1st Amend. rights.”

Spindly terrorist wannabe to get new sentencing hearing

For the past few years, Always on Watch and I have been covering the story of Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, valedictorian of his class at the Islamic Saudi Academy, who was convicted of his role in a plot to assassinate the President. His conviction was upheld; moreover, his case has been sent to lower court, because the 30-year sentence was too lenient.

As I noted, Abu Ali would be a still robust man in early 50s, if he were to serve the entire 30-year sentence. Let's hope he's put away for life. At the same time, the prison system has to give up this nonsense of supplying prayer rugs, Qu'rans, etc. to convicted Islamic terrorists and allowing them to wear prayer caps and grow Islamic beards to enable practice of their religion.
